2020 Community Benefit Scholarship

(KPSAHS CB Scholarship)

Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences Community Benefit Scholarships are available for eligible applicants. Awards are available for programs of study offered at the Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences in Richmond, CA.

Financial need and demonstrated passion for serving your community will be the basis for evaluation and selection of KPSAHS CB scholarship recipients. Scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in the following programs offered by the Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences (KPSAHS):

Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin. Actual awards may be less than the maximum listed.
KPSAHS reserves the right to seek verification of the representations made on the scholarship applications, and the applicants and recipients may be asked to provide verification documentation.
To establish and maintain eligibility, all applicants to these awards must:
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Be enrolled in an eligible KPSAHS program with the applicable program start term as defined above
  • Be in good academic standing at the time when the application is submitted (in other words, student is not on academic probation)
  • Be enrolled in the Fall 2020 quarter and remain enrolled until the program is completed (if student’s enrollment is interrupted, disbursements will cease)
  • Submit a completed online scholarship application by Monday, September 7, 2020, 11:59 p.m. (PST) deadline
The KPSAHS Community Benefit Scholarship will be disbursed each quarter until the scholarship award amount is fully disbursed.
Complete the KPSAHS Community Benefit (CB) Scholarship Application online by:
  • Answering a few brief questions, explaining how your personal background relates to your decision to pursue a scholarship. You may include any educational, familial, cultural, economic, or social experiences, challenges, residency and citizenship, first-generation college status, or opportunities relevant to your academic journey and how your life experiences contribute to the social, intellectual, or cultural diversity within the campus community and your chosen field
  • Uploading any recognition you have received or awards that you are proud of. You may also include community service and academic awards that you would like considered
  • Signing the Scholarship Certification and Permission to Release Information Form and verification documents that may be required to the KPSAHS CB Scholarship Committee
How to Apply
  1. Gather information and documents requested in the online scholarship application. To see a preview of the application, click here.
  2. Sign the Scholarship Certification and Permission to Release Information Form and scan it to PDF. (You may use the library copier to scan to email to create a PDF or use a smart phone app such as TurboScan to photograph multiple documents and create a PDF)
  3. Scan into one PDF document any recognition you have received or awards that you are proud of. You may also include community service and academic awards that you would like considered
  4. Complete and submit the online Scholarship Application, which can be accessed by clicking on the link below

    Note:
    • It is recommended that all information be entered in one sitting
    • Avoid using a computer at KPSAHS; if you start an application on a KPSAHS computer and do not complete it, other applicants will be able to access the information you’ve entered
    • Upload the PDFs when requested
    • Application deadline is Monday evening, September 7, 11:59 p.m. (PST)

 

​Deadline

You must submit the online application, along with all required supporting documentation, on or before Monday, September 7, 2020, 11:59 p.m. (PST).

  • The evaluation and ranking of applications will be based on financial need and your contribution to the social, intellectual, or cultural diversity within the campus community and your chosen field
  • The KPSAHS Scholarship Committee will review applications and select the scholarship recipients
  • All applicants agree to accept the decision of the KPSAHS Scholarship Committee as final
  • Applicants will be notified of the final decision by October 2, 2020
  • Not all applicants to the scholarship program will be selected as recipients

Scholarships are disbursed directly to the students’ KPSAHS student account in payment of KPSAHS Tuition and Fees ONLY.
Scholarship funds awarded that exceed tuition and fee charges will be returned to the scholarship fund and will be made available to the next highest-ranking applicant.

Should scholarship recipients fail to maintain scholarship eligibility requirements, scholarship disbursements will cease. Student is not eligible to reapply.
Should a student lose eligibility, scholarship funds previously disbursed (only for the quarters for which the recipient is no longer eligible) will be removed from the student’s account.

Scholarship recipients are required to submit their KPSAHS Quarterly Scholarship Questionnaires to scholarshipinfo@kpsahs.edu and may be required to meet with the KPSAHS Student Support Group. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to contact the KPSAHS Student Support Group with concerns. Recipients have no other obligation to Kaiser Permanente.

Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program.
