KPSAHS CB Scholarship

Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences Community Benefit Scholarships are available for qualified applicants. Awards are available for programs of study offered at the Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences in Richmond, CA to newly admitted students.

Award Criteria

Financial need, academic excellence, and demonstrated passion for serving your community will be the basis for evaluation and selection of KPSAHS CB scholarship recipients. Scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in the following programs offered by the Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences:

Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin. Actual awards may be less the maximum listed.


Eligibility

KPSAHS reserves the right to seek verification of represented or submitted information made on the scholarship application. The applicant/recipient may be asked to provide additional documentation.

To establish eligibility, all applicants to these awards must:

  • Have recent acceptance (defined as students starting their program in 2017) and enrollment to a Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health eligible program.
  • KPSAHS may use the following to verify the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale). Sources of CGPA high school, other colleges/universities, and/or KPSAHS.
  • Be in good academic standing (not on academic probation)
  • Enroll in the program in the quarter for which the scholarship is awarded.
  • Have demonstrated financial need.
  • Complete a scholarship application.


Scholarship Application Deadline and Directions

November 5th, 2017 is the last day for submitting all required documentation.

Step 1. Complete and sign the KPSAHS Community Benefit (CB) Scholarship Release of Transcripts from KPSAHS Student Records Form.This form will be uploaded to the application page found in step two, as an attachment.

Note: The online application has a section for submitting a 250-word essay that describes how you will use your KPSAHS education to serve the community(s) in which you live and/or work.

In addition, all application pages with required fields must be completed in the format described in order to submit the application. Standard capitalization (Jill Smith, not jill smith or JILL SMITH) must be used when entering data. Carefully review your application before submission.


Selection of Recipients

  • The evaluation and ranking of applications will be based on financial need, academic excellence and commitment to serving the community in which you live and work.
  • Consideration will also be given for Academic Excellence and Community Service awards.
  • The KPSAHS Scholarship Committee will evaluate and rank all applications.
  • The KPSAHS Scholarship Committee will review rankings and applications and will select recipients.
  • All applicants agree to accept the decision of the KPSAHS Scholarship Committee as final.
  • Applicants will be notified by November 30, 2017.
  • Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.


Disbursement of Scholarship Funds

Scholarships are disbursed directly to the students’ KPSAHS student account in payment of KPSAHS Tuition and Fees ONLY.

Scholarship funds awarded that exceed tuition and fee charges will be returned to the scholarship fund and will be made available to the next highest-ranking applicant.


Maintaining Eligibility

The KPSAHS Scholarship is renewable each quarter by maintaining status of good academic standing for subsequent quarters until graduation and/or completion of program as defined below. To remain eligible for the KPSAHS Scholarship, once awarded, students must:

  • Receive a grade of C (or Pass) or better in all courses attempted at KPSAHS.
  • Maintain a 2.0 CGPA.
  • Successfully complete clinical instruction and master required competencies, as scheduled, by quarter.
  • Notify KPSAHS Scholarship Committee, quarterly, of intent to continue the academic program.

Should scholarship recipient fail to maintain scholarship eligibility requirements, scholarship disbursements will cease. Student is not eligible to reapply.

Should a student lose eligibility, scholarship funds previously disbursed (only for the quarters for which the recipient is no longer eligible ), will be removed from the student’s account.

Obligations

Recipients have no obligation to Kaiser Permanente. They are, however, required to notify Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information.


KPSAHS Right to Revise

Kaiser Permanente reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program.
