Tentatively, classes will be held in a hybrid format, meaning lecture classes will be online and lab classes will be on ground at our KPSAHS location in Richmond. Classes will be held three days a week, with two days as lecture classes (remote based) and one day of on ground lab class. The tentative hours will be 9:00 am - 3:30 pm for the day program (Fall quarter starts) and 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm for the evening program (Spring quarter starts).
The Medical Assisting program is a 12-month, four-quarter program. In the last quarter MA clinical training consists of 320 hours scheduled Monday-Friday during normal business hours 8:00 am - 5:30 pm.
Medical Assisting students do their clinical training at Kaiser Permanente facilities. The exact location will be determined before clinical begins. We do not guarantee locations or areas.
Once the application deadline has passed, we will email all applicants who have submitted a complete application and provide them with instructions to register for the Wonderlic assessment exam. The Wonderlic assessment exam is given at the college and applicants who achieve a passing score 15 points or higher will be offered an interview. Applicants who will be offered a seat in the class will be contacted by phone, all others will be notified by email.
The current cost for the 2021-2022 program is $7,473.00 includes which includes tuition, books, labs fees, scrubs and prescreening fees.
No, we do not offer federal financial aid. There may be some scholarship opportunities available for students that are accepted into the program.
No, we do not guarantee employment in general or with Kaiser Permanente. Our Department of Career Services will help with resume building, interviewing, and providing job leads.
Currently we have an 80% employment rate.
We are a Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) regionally accredited school. We also have approval through the Bureau of Private and Post-Secondary Education (BPPE).
