
Catherine Wohlwend, LMFT (she/her)
Catherine Wohlwend is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked with adults, couples, families, children and adolescents. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Notre Dame de Namur University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Washington. Her clinical foundation is enriched by specialized training in EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Coherence Therapy, perinatal mental health, interpersonal neurobiology and is a graduate of the UC Davis/Napa Infant-Parent Mental Health Fellowship.
Catherine has extensive experience across a range of clinical settings, including schools, outpatient clinics, nonprofits, and hospitals. In her private practice, she offers psychotherapy for adults and couples, with a special interest in healing developmental trauma for parents who are seeking to break generational cycles. In her current role at Kaiser as a triage clinician she works with the full spectrum of patients from those who are entering mental healthcare for the first time as well as those in urgent crisis situations. She values taking the time to understand the root of a patient’s concern so that she can best support them getting the care that they need and deserve.
Some of Catherine’s other clinical interests are religious trauma, infant mental health, case conceptualization and client-centered philosophies. Some of her favorite psychology academics to read are Carl Rogers, Irvin Yalom, Nancy McWilliams, and Dan Siegel.
